Business Development Manager - Ref: NO26
We are looking for a driven and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join our Sales team and support the continued growth of our business within the smoke ventilation solutions sector.
This is a great opportunity for a confident relationship-builder who can grow existing accounts, win new business, and work with internal teams to deliver strong commercial solutions across the UK.
Reporting to the Head of Sales, you will manage key client relationships, identify new opportunities, and help drive revenue growth through proactive business development and effective proposal management.
The role involves:
- Generate and manage cost budgets and estimates for incoming enquiries (training provided)
- Develop and execute business development strategies in conjunction with the Head of Sales
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities via LinkedIn, social media, and targeted outreach
- Develop and manage a portfolio of key accounts from your activity, while also securing new clients to ensure are achieved in line with budget
- Maintain a robust pipeline to achieve annual sales targets
- Maintain pipeline of opportunity in the CRM to monitor proposal status and likelihood of conversion, whilst importantly providing pipeline and forecast data to the business.
- Prepare and deliver sales presentations, design handovers, and proposal documents
- Support preparation of technical schematics, sales literature, and layouts (AutoCAD basics required)
- Complete new customer onboarding processes including credit checks
- Provide market intelligence to inform commercial strategy
- Work collaboratively across departments to support innovation, project development, and delivery
- Maintain up-to-date records and ensure timely submission of client proposals
- Adhere to company tollgate systems for estimation and contract processes to maximise profitability and client satisfaction
- Identify and introduce cross sell opportunities to wider TIS divisions
Key experience / Qualifications:
- Experience in Sales, Customer Service, or similar client-facing roles
- Strong technical aptitude
- Strong organisational, time management, and self-motivation skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving ability
- Competency in Microsoft Office; familiarity in AutoCAD preferred
- Familiar with Technical Drawings: PDF, DWG, Bluebeam etc
- Comfortable networking and conducting site visits
- Strong mathematical and English language skills
- Knowledge or experience within the Smoke Ventilation industry advantageous (training provided)
Skills and Capabilities:
- Familiar with AutoCAD (basic) and PDF Editor
- Frequent visits to NSP HQ in Kidderminster; role is hybrid-based split between office, home and national client visits
- May involve working outside regular business hours and overnight stays to meet the requirements of the role

- Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm – flexibility required (Permanent)
