Against Modern Slavery
Introduction
Nationwide Specialist Project Limited is publishing this statement under the provision of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’}. The Act requires business to state the actions they have taken during the financial year to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in their operations and supply chains. Slavery and human trafficking remains a hidden blight on our global society. We all have a responsibility to be alert to the risks, however small, in our business and in the wider supply chain. Modern Slavery has no place in our business or supply chains and we take a zero tolerance approach to it. Employees are expected to report concerns and management are expected to act upon them to enable the Company to improve their practices to combat slavery and human trafficking.
Our business and structure
We are an independent systems integrator, specialising in driving digital transformation and integration across the life safety, security and communications industry. Total Integrated Solutions Group Ltd is the parent company of Nationwide Specialist Project Ltd The Company’s Head Office and other offices are all based in the UK. Nationwide Specialist Project Ltd has an annual turnover under the threshold to be required by Law to disclose a Modern Slavery Statement, however we feel that it is important to highlight our commitment to the Modern Slavery Policy regardless of our turnover. We design, supply, install, commission, test and certificate smoke ventilation systems. We have a number of engineering staff, there is a significant support and administrative function.
Our supply chains
Our supply chains include the sourcing of raw materials principally related to the provision of bespoke smoke ventilation systems.
Our policies on slavery and human trafficking
We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement – implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking
Risks of modern slavery are dynamic and change quickly. Therefore, we regularly reassess and respond to the potential and actual risks in our business and supply chains. As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we actively review the following: –
- Where viable, we project manage our projects directly to ensure optimum control of the work environment.
- Where possible we build long standing relationships with local suppliers and end clients and make clear our expectations of business behaviour. • With regards to national or international supply chains, our point of contact is preferably with a UK company or branch and we expect these entities to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes. We expect each entity in the supply chain to, at least, adopt ‘one-up’ due diligence on the next link in the chain. It is not practical for us (and every other participant in the chain) to have a direct relationship with all links in the supply chain, ultimately to the field or utility generator.
- We have in place systems to encourage the reporting of concerns and the protection of whistle blowers.
Supplier adherence to our values
We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. We expect all those in our supply chain and contractors to comply with our values.
